Steps for Linking Aadhar with the PAN

  • STEP 1: Payment of applicable fee on NSDL (now Protean) portal under Major head (0021) and Minor head (500) for AY 2023-24.
  • STEP 2: Submit the Aadhaar link request on the e-Filing portal after 4-5 working days of making of payment on the NSDL (now Protean) portal. If the amount is less than or greater than the specified amount (Rs. 500/1000 basis date of fee payment), the amount shall be considered as invalid for purpose of Aadhaar-PAN linkage. Only single challan of fee amount Rs. 500 till 30th June 2022 and Rs. 1000 after 30th Jun 2022 with Minor head code 500 will be considered as valid fee for Aadhaar-PAN linkage The challan for fee payment should be with the AY 2023-24 only.
  • STEP 3: After validating PAN and Aadhar, you will see a pop-up message that “Your payments details are verified”. Click Continue on the pop-up message to submit the Aadhaar link request.
  • STEP 4: After validating PAN and Aadhar If you have made payment of challan on NSDL (now Protean) Portal and payments details are verified by e-filing.
